| About the Recordings | HOME |
All these recordings are entirely the work (and entirely the fault) of David Craig. The "band" has been generated electronically. Most of the earlier ones, by a Yamaha MU10 external sound card, later ones by a Creative SB Live! card - with Soundfonts providing the sounds. These were driven by a software MIDI sequencer - Evolution Sound Studio Gold. The vocals are all me, too, recorded directly to hard disk and cleaned up with Syntrillium's CoolEdit 2000/Pro. The "female" vocals have been achieved using a software vocoder (RBC Audio Tweaker). I have no pretensions as a performer or producer; these recordings are intended to give ‘real’ performers or producers enough information/inspiration to do the job properly. If you want to have a go, drop me a line and I'll give you all the help I can. |
| About the MP3s |
The MP3s on this site have been encoded at 128Kbps, 44KHz Stereo, Variable Bit Rate - Using the Fraunhofer plug-in with Syntrillium's CoolEdit Pro. (Now, Adobe Audition.) MP3s should be playable in almost any browser. If you don't have a MP3 player, I'd recommend Zinf - an open-source (free) player, or the Quintessence player - also free. Previous visitors to this site will be aware that some of these recordings were once available as RealMusic files. I have decided to ditch these. I finally got fed up with RealNetworks' continual nags. In any case, MP3 players are now fairly universal, whilst RealPlayer is an additional plug-in (and a bit of a pain-in-the-neck, to boot). I hope this has not inconvenienced you. |
